On January 4, 2024, Government College Kasaragod hosted a seminar attended by 25 third-year Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science students and two faculty members. The seminar, organized by Techasoft Pvt. Ltd., aimed to educate participants about potential careers in software development.

Techasoft Pvt. Ltd. is a rapidly expanding IT solutions provider catering to various industries such as healthcare, food services, travel & tourism, logistics & shipping, e-commerce, finance, technology, manufacturing, and IT-enabled education. With approximately 12 service sites, Techasoft boasts a team of highly skilled IT professionals, including software engineers, web developers, designers, and digital marketing experts, ensuring efficient service delivery.

The seminar covered essential topics for students' future careers, including front-end and back-end development. Front-end development focuses on enhancing user experience using technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to ensure intuitive website navigation and interaction. On the other hand, back-end developers concentrate on server-side operations, employing programming languages such as Java, Python, and Ruby to create website functionality, statistics, and APIs.

Other agenda items included digital marketing, mobile application development (particularly React Native), and software training. Digital marketing involves campaigns displayed on electronic devices through channels like social media and online videos, contrasting with traditional methods like billboards and direct mail. Mobile application development focuses on creating software for mobile devices, typically utilizing network connections to access remote computer resources. Additionally, software training, facilitated by learning management systems, simplifies online training for employees, customers, and business partners across various industries.

The seminar also introduced machine learning, a branch of artificial intelligence enabling computers to perform tasks without explicit programming. Through discussions, students received guidance on navigating the competitive landscape of software development employment, gaining insights into their areas of interest and exploring career options.
